Common questions for employees

How and when do I get paid?

Payment is done securely through our third party partner, Stripe. All you need to do is enter your information when you first sign up. Once you’re done with a shift, Stripe directly deposits the payment into your account in less than a week.

Why is there a rating system?

Job-O has a rating system to ensure accountability. All ratings and comments are anonymous unless both parties choose it not to be.

Is there training?

Not all jobs require training but if they do, the company will notify you of it in the “Special Instructions” section of the job offer.

What are the different job opportunities within the app?

Job-O is available across many industries who offer many different shifts. These industries include retail, restaurants, bars/clubs, entertainment, and construction.

How do I access my rewards?

Once you collect 100 Job-O coins, you can break your money jar and the incentive will be deposited into your account in less than 7 days.

What if I have to cancel before a shift?

Cancelling before is definitely not recommended, however if you really do need to cancel a shift it will go on your resume so we highly encourage you to only apply to jobs you’re sure you can make.

How do I get rewards for my friends’ work?

It’s simple! If you see a shift on the app that you think your friends would be great at send it to them and if they apply and get accepted you get rewards once they complete their shift.

What is the minimum age to use the app?

Job-O complies with Ontario employment laws. The minimum differs age for different jobs so make sure you familiar with them before you apply for a shift.

Common questions for companies

Do employees get screened?

Yes, at Job-O we screen all employees once before allowing them to apply to your posts. They can only apply if they have a clean record.

How do we make payments and how much does it cost?

You can make payments through our trusted third party partner, Stripe directly from the Job-O app. To use Job-O and enjoy all of it's benefits it cost 40% of total cost of the shift. For example, a $50 shift will cost you $70.

How do I train an employee?

If your posting requires training, you should mention it in the “Special Instructions” section of the posting and let the applicants know how that would be if they were to get accepted.

Can I send a shift to someone I have already worked with and liked?

Yes, you can favourite your past Job-O employees incase you want to hire them again. We always encourage working with new people.
